Bertram (also known as "The Old Warrior") is a narrow gauge tank engine who the engines formerly believed was a ghost.

Bio[]

Bertram worked on the same railway as Duke, Stuart,Falcon, and Smudger a long time ago. Unfortunately, after many years, the railway had run out of money and was going to close down. Stuart, Falcon, and Bertram were bought by Sir Topham Hatt, who was visiting relatives who lived on the railroad at the time.  Duke and Smudger were lost on the railway, but eventually recovered after many years.

After Falcon, Stuart, and Bertram were brought to Sodor, Falcon and Stuart were renamed Sir Handel and Peter Sam. Bertram's first assignment was to deliver a train to the quarry near Ulfstead Castle. However, he broke down there and many months lost there when Ulfstead Castle was deened unsafe and closed down. He was discovered by Toby when the latter was taking a coal train to the Docks but got lost. Bertram was restored and brought back to work on the Sodor Railway. Since then Duke had been discovered in a shed and brought to Sodor and Bertram was happy to be reunited with his old friend.

When the Narrow Gauge Expansion Project began, Bertram and Madge were sent to help out by Sir Topham Hatt. When the project was completed, Bertram chose to stay on the Narrow Gauge Railway and had his wheels refitted in order to work there. Since then, he has been a very hard worker and has become good friends with Rheneas and Skarloey.

Persona[]

Bertram is an incredibly brave engine, hence his nickname "The Old Warrior". He is also a hard worker and is incredibly intelligent and passionate. Bertram is a good friend and whenever he is in the area, it is hard to be cranky or sad. He has a great sense of humor and enjoys living life to the fullest. He can be a little impatient, however, but makes up for it with his enthusiasm.
