Gordon is a large, pompous blue tender engine. He is the number "4" engine on the railway, and he pulls the Sodor Express.
Bio[]
Gordon arrived on Sodor as a very young engine, along with his brother, The Flying Scotsman. He had many adventures with both his brother and his new friends James and Henry. He soon became one of the most experienced engines on the line, and did not take kindly to when new, young engines such as Thomas and Percy showed up and began causing trouble. However, the engines soon learned their places and became good friends with the tender engines.
Gordon was not very happy when Thomas acquired his coaches, Annie and Clarabel, because he was afraid that Thomas would steal his passengers. However, when he saw that Thomas' coaches were much smaller than the Express Coaches, and that he ran a completely different route, Gordon became less apprehensive. Gordon and Henry also ridiculed James when the latter caused an accident involving the Troublesome Trucks.
Gordon often competes against Hank and Henry to see who is the strongest engine on the Island of Sodor. However, unlike the other two, Gordon hates pulling freight trains and only enjoys pulling coaches. Gordon also extremely dislikes diesels, but especially Diesel, Arry, and Bert. Gordon was upset when his brother was bought by the Mainland Preservation Society, since his brother would no longer be Sir Topham Hatt's engine, and would therefore be on the island less.
Persona[]
Gordon is pompous and proud. He thinks he is the strongest and fastest engine on Sodor. He loves pulling the express, and his self-importance can lead him to unknowingly belittle other engines, particularly if they are small in size or are older engines. However, Gordon is determined and strong, and he is able to put aside his vanity when his friends are in need.
He has a rivalry with the diesels on the island, especially Diesel, Arry, and Bert. He also enjoys competing with Henry and Hank to see who is the strongest steam engine.
